I'm sort of shocked he (the Sho leader) has feelings for Kura. If she is so corrupted and cruel to her ranks, then how could someone so honorable and calm fall for her? Opposites do seem attract I suppose lol.
I'm glad Kagome saw through his disgust and not just take it as face value (his disgust was for her humanity). I think it really showed the Sho leader that she was not only powerful but insightful to be able to see past his barriers, even during an intense fight. It also shows the Sho leader has wisdom and fairness to be able to allow Kagome her rank even though his heart wanted to do what Kura wanted.
I had to go back and re read the previous chapter though. I'm wondering if Kura is really behind the trap of the fight between Kagome and the Sho leader. I'm beginning to think that maybe it was Lady Inari that at least gave the idea to Kura. Kura may have been genuine when she was concerned what the Gon leader was doing and that Chicka was attacked. However, I really don't think it is in Kura to be concerned about others in her rank - afterall she obviously has allowed other youkai of different ranks use her own rank as their geishas and I don't think the Gon leader is smart enough to try a complicated plan like that on his own. Kura may be that intelligent but I'm suspecting Lady Inaria had a hand in it seeing as she wants Kagome either at the bottom of the rank or outright stripped of the Sho rank.

Oh I am very pleased as to how the battle chapter turn out!!!! It was nice to see Kagome kick ass instead of getting her but kick and being pushed around like in most stories, I am glad to see that little by little she is changing the opinions of everyone within demon society, but most importantly how she is managing to break Sesshomarus stereotypes about humans and her..... I truly like where this is heading, and I can not wait for more!! Great job as always!! :-)
A rather beautiful chapter. I wonder if everyone else would assume that sesshomaru was angry that kagome was acknowleged or angry that inuyasha was even present?

Happy Birthday!!!! Love how Kagome got the respect of the Sho leader just by not using her miko powers to purify him. She's slowly but surily gaining the respect of the other groups. Also love Sesshoumaru's reaction when Inuyasha rushed to Kagome's side and took her away after the battle...priceless! Can't wait till the next chapter :)
