Edit: Okay, i think i made it to vague. So here a second hint:
The people of this character were killed in an attack against an deadly warrior.

I´ve seen a bit from the episode and thought Kikyo was hurt by a demon and searched protection in a cave. Didn´t know that the cave was a demon. Oh well, something new learned  |

Yeah it was a demon, it used an illusion image of a young girl crying for help to lure priestesses in and then drained them of their energy. When Kagome killed it it's entire body dissolved, including the caves.
