no, when I read it, the title wasn't symbols, but I read like mass amounts of stories a day.... sooo i can't be sure, i'm browsing now, but I won't be done till sometime tomorrow.... T__T work and all.

You know, I think I was looking for the same story recently.

Same background. He looks after Rin's descendants and seems in some way to be "honor-bound" to protect the family (answering to any family member, but the head of the family in particular). He's kind of like an inheritance.

When he finds Kagome he's currently serving a woman who heads the family, who has a son who is a brat and a pain in the ass who Sesshomaru often has to get out of trouble. They know he's a demon of course.

Kagome does end up staying the night, and they do sleep together, but it takes a long time for their relationship to reach that point. It was a great story, and unfinished the last time I read it.

Ok, now I want to know where the heck it is too.

set in the present, Kagome is working in a store, don't know how but Sess finds her and builds a friendship. He in the meantime is taking a backseat, and looking after Rins descendants. Kagome is invited to an event on the grounds, where she ends up staying the night ( I think)

Nope, I don't believe that's the one. That's the one where he's all anal about his tattoo'ing and his assistant (I think it's Shiori the half-demon bat girl??) suggests to Kagome that a good way to test his sincerity/honesty with her is by asking to help him in the tattoo parlor. If he told her no she couldn't help, then he was being straight with her (because he's all anal about his tattoo thing ). Of course, he told her "no" right off, but she was able to talk him into it eventually. (Geez, I read too much fan fiction ).

Ah I think I read this one... but I don't remember the title either. I too shall join the search.

The first story requested is called "Regretting You" by Kamakura Yumi. She pulled all her stories a couple years back, then I heard earlier this year that it was on InuYasha Fanfiction.

At that time, Nile posted on the Demonlordlover2 Yahoo!Group that she could give people a link to the story. Shortly afterward, Nile said that the author had pulled it again. To the best of my knowledge it was only complete to about 22 or 23 chapters. If anyone wants, they can probably contact Nile at InuYasha Fanfiction and see if the author has reposted it.
