Hi! This may not be the story you are looking for but Neighborly by Suchiko has a similar story plot. I know the story you are looking for but the name of the story escapes me, so I have to go look for it. I know it's in my list of favorites somewhere...

The one on ff.net only has 9 chapters of the story, so you may have to read it on deviantart for the full story. The story is still incomplete though, as it only has 14 chapters.

This was a favorited story but now I can't find it. Everyone is human. Sess has a daughter Rin and Kagome moves across the street. Rin comes home after school but doesn't have her key. Kagome offers to take her to her home and they play beauty parlor. Other bits are Yura as a nanny, Kagome and Yura are arrested, Kagome get stranded at a rest stop in a blizzard.
