A Clash of Royal Proportions by Lady Selena

chapter 1

On this new day Sesshomaru arrises from his bed, and immediately gets ready for the day. After breakfast he and his father head out to the training field to begin there training for the day. They both entered the training field from separate places meeting in the middle of the field.

"Ok Sesshomaru, Let me see what you have learned since the last time we met..." Inutaishou said as he walked up to Sesshomaru.

"As you wish father"... He said as he walked away from his father.

He snarled as he flexed his claw and then pulled his sword from its sheath and attacked. His father pulled out twin blades for he didn't want to use just one of his swords. he only pulled that one when he wanted to kill out right, the twin swords he held allowed him to just inflict damage to his son without killing him. As Sesshomaru headed towards his father to attack him. When he came close enough to his father, Inutaishou erected a barrier and when he was about to try and break through it Inutaishou then got the break he needed to attack Sesshomaru with his twin blades. Inutaishou was as fast or slightly faster than him as their swords meet in a test of strength. They were both pushing each other to the max as they both pulled away and retreated about five feet away from each other. They started to go around in a circle, trying to find an opening to their opponent's defenses so they could attack. Sesshomaru moved in and swung his sword to attack and his father countered, blocking is sword, but quickly moved behind him for an attack of his own.

"What's wrong Sesshomaru? Unable to hit your old man?..." He said while chuckling softly.

"I'm just getting warmed up father..." He said waiting for his fathers' attack.

"Alright then..." Inutaishou moved in and swung his sword to attack.

Sesshomaru then countered with an attack of his own. Sending his father across the battle field. Inutaishou then jumped up and countered Sesshomarus' attack with his own, but Sesshomaru was quicker. He countered, blocking his sword, but quickly moved behind him for an attack of his own. Sesshomaru meet his other sword as he brought it behind him and blocked his move so he wouldn't hurt him.

"That was good Sesshomaru, but you need to be on your guard at all times, so there are no weak points for others to point out..." Inutaishou said walking away from his son.

Just then Intaishou felt Sesshomaru coming towards him, and quickly dodged his attack he then quickly turned, and sent a blast of his Reiyouku into his chest sending Sesshomaru flying backwards as he landed about 20 feet away from him on his back.

Inutaishou saw him getting up and now he new that his son would give him a fight. Sesshomarus' eyes had turnes a deep shade or red and now looked pissed. He saw Sesshomaru jump towards him, his claws glowing as he approached his father ready to attack. Just then Inutaishou then countered with his swords sending bolts of lightning towards Sesshomaru. Both of there attacks met in the air and exploded, blowing Inutaishou across the battle field.

Just then out of now where came Inuyasha ready to fight with his father and brother.

"Ah, Inuyasha, good you're here..." Said Inutaishou walking towards Inuyasha.

"What are you doing here little brother?..." Said Sesshomaru in his stoic tone.

"I am here to train with you and father, I need to be stronger before the competition starts."

"Lets keep training then boys..." He says while he walks off to his starting position.

***********************************************************

mean while at the southern palace.

Selena is training with her trainer.

"you are training well Selena, but with your own demon power you are still not strong enough to control your fathers power." Samos said walking away from Selena.

"Yesterday's battle showed me that I have neglected a certain portion of your training. When you were battling against youkai you were not fighting to your full potential. There is a power deep within everyone that comes out when you want to protect. You can only access this power when you are protecting something that is dear to you." She said circling around her.

"But how would I bring that power out master?" Selena said with a confused look on her face.

"You battled those youkai yesterday and you never tapped into that power. In today's lesson you will tap into this power or you will die trying. I will not let up on my attacks not even if you go down. If I have to hurt you to get you to release this power then so be it." Samos said as she took out he sword ready to attack.

Selena looked at her master if she were crazy, then realized that she wasn't when she started running towards her. Selena took out her sword, and got ready to attack. Selena didn't understand what she was talking about cause no one bother to teach her. She was so deep in thought that she was not ready to defend herself against her trainer when Samos came after her. Selena would have been hurt if she had not come out of her thoughts and blocked Samos's attack from hitting her. Then in return attacking Samos with and attack of her own.

"Good, that's what I want to see." Samos said as she readied for another attack.

Selena got a smirk on her face as she turned and pulled out another of her swords, and ran towards Samos. Their swords collided with each other in a test of strength, but to Selena's surprise her master easily pushed her back. Selena realized that her trainer was a lot stronger today than on other days they trained and she didn't know why, she only new that she had to defend herself. Just then Samos disappeared from selena's sight, so she concentrated on her movement to find a possible weakness, but to no avai she was to fast and out the corner of her eye Selena sees Samos with her sword come down, but luckily Selena was thinking clearly and dodged her attack.

"Good, Selena you are improving greatly, now we need a target." She said looking around the field.

"Wait, what target?" She said also looking around in confusion.

"There." Just then Kagome walks onto the field.

"Samos what are you doing?" She said running after her.

As Selena runs after Samos to get to Kagome, she pulls both of her swords out and increases her speed to get to Kagome, finally stepping in-between Kagome and Samos. Just the Samos sent a volley of lightning bolts towards them. Selena moved with speeds not even Samos new she possessed trying to attack in hopes of protecting Kagome. But then Samos took her chance and turned her attack on Kagome. She was completely caught off guard as she saw Samos coming towards her, and erected a barrier to protect herself, but to no avail Samos broke through her barrier with her swords with a simple swipe hitting kagome with such force that she went flying through the air, and landed on her back

"No! Kagome!" Selena said as she raced towards Kagome.

The wind was knocked out of Kagome as she was gasping for air. She was struggling to get up before she would attack her again. Selena saw that her trainer had intended to attack her again, her eyes started to bleed red as power that she never felt before start to rise from with in her. It came up quickly as she moved faster to get to kagome blocking Samos's attack with her own. Selena the quickly stood in front of kagome to protect her as she healed herself as Samos came at Selena while exchanging blows with her.

"That's it Selena. Let me see it. Let it out." Samos said while still attacking.

Selena's aura had nearly doubled in size , so now was the time for Samos to see id she could handle herself, so she continued to fight. Kagome watched as Selena protected her from Samos's wrath. She had never seen such power coming from Selena before. She was protecting her from getting hurt and it touched her deeply that she cared enough for her to put her life on the line. Just then with one final blow Selena sent Samos flying across the field finally landing on the ground, and she jumped at her and pinned her to the ground declaring Selena the winner.

"Very good Selena, do you now understand what I was telling you about your inner strength?" Samos said while getting up off the ground dusting herself off.

"Yes master I see now." She turns away from Samos to face Kagome.

"Now what do you want Kagome?" she said putting a hand on her hip.

"mother wants to talk to us." kagome said dusting herself off.

"Do you know what she wants to talk to us about?"

"no i sure don't Selena, but its really important because father is going to talk with us too."

"ok lets hurry into the palace. Sorry master I have to go see what my mother wants."she said turning to Samos

"Its ok Selena, we'll continue this later."

"Yes master."

They both turned and headed for the palace. Once inside they headed for the thrown room to see there mother and father

"ah Selena, Kagome, please come here. we need to speak to you both." Said Allicia as they walked in.

"yes mother." They both said walking up to them.

"girls, I know you two have been training for the competition, that will be against the western lands, but now things have changed. The lord and lady of the western land and us have made a pact with each other. And you will now be married to both of their sons before the competitions start." Said Atomus as he got up out of his chair and started pacing the room.

"but why father?" Kagome said as she folded her arms.

"I'm sorry but that was the deal of the pact with the lord and lady of the western lands." He said turning around.

"I don't want to be married yet. I want to fight in the competition first." Selena said walking up to her father

"You will follow orders. Do you understand?" He said sternly while turning towards her.

"yes father." they both walked off to their rooms.

"Do you think they will be ok?" She said walking up to him putting her arms around him.

"They will be just fine." He smiled, and hugged her.

Back at the western kingdom.

"good, you two. you've learned a lot today, but you both have a lot to learn before the competition."

"Shall we keep training then?" Asked Sesshomaru

"No, but I have something important to tell you that we must discuss."

"What is it father?" Sesshomaru said walking next to his father.

"You will see. you and inuyasha will meet me and your mother in the study and we'll talk about it." He said putting his hand on Sesshomaru's shoulder.

"yes father." They both said as they all walked to the palace and headed to the study where their mother was already waiting for them.

"Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, please come and sit down." There mother said already sitting down.

they all sat down, and waited to see what they were going to say.

"Sesshomaru, Inuyasha. I have called you both in here because we have to discuss something about the competition that involves the eastern lands." The lord said as he looked at his mate

"I know you two have been training for the competition, that will be against the eastern lands, but now things have changed. The lord and lady of the eastern lands and us have made a pact with each other. And you will now be married to both of their daughters before the competition starts."

"But why father?" Inuyasha said as he got up out of his chair.

"Calm down Inuyasha" Inutaishou said in hush tones to calm his son." that was the deal of the pact that we made with the lord and lady of the eastern lands."

"No, I will not get married, just because of some agreement that you made." Sesshomaru said getting out of his chair

"You will obey my orders is that clear?" He said as he stood in front of Sesshomaru.

"yes father." he said with a small growl in his throat.

"We are going to meet them tomorrow at the eastern palace, so be dressed and ready to leave."

"Yes father." they both said as they walked out of the study.
