Practice meet

The track is so...exhilarating. It's nice to be able to hear myself think, once in a while. The pure morning air is frosty and seems to want to nip at my feet as I run, but it's refreshing and peaceful. I love how it just wakes me up in the morning, as if I took a dip into a cold, lake. It looks so foggy like it's polluted air, but the beauty of it is that it isn't tainted in the least. It is so much nicer here in Hokkaido than Honshu. Everything about Hokkaido is much more wonderful. I thought that transferring into a different school would be the worst thing possible, but they have more selections in the sports department here. They didn't have the track sport for girls where I came from, so I hope, my love for running, doesn't make me as much of an outcast here as I was in my previous school. I've always loved running, but this tops all. I can actually compete! I am so excited about try-outs next tuesday. I hope I make the team.

*huff* "Alright, I think it may be time for a water break. *gulp, gulp* That was so nice. I got to run in the school yard without someone stopping by and telling me for the billionth time girls aren't allowed on the track."

*clap, clap, clap*

"Who's there?"

"I like your style, Ms. Higarashi. You pace yourself well and you know how to hydrate yourself. Very impressive."

"Who are you? And how did you know my name?"

"You don't recognize me? What a shame. Tsk, tsk. Hahaha. Well, I am the Boy's Track, varsity team, vice captain. Inuyasha Taisho. It's nice to meet you. You have a name tag on your bag by the way."

"Boy's track, varsity team, vice captain? What are you doing out here? Why would you be out here so early?'

"Well, the truth of the matter is...you are holding up our team's practice."

"What?! I am so sorry. I am sooo sorry. I'll leave..."

"Why would you leave. Those of us who made the track team last year come here, a week before school starts, and gets a head start on any others willing to try-out. You were on the girls track team last year, no? We'll make a spot for you, even though you're not actually on our team."

"N-no, no. You have it all wrong. I wasn't even at this school last year. I'm new here. A t-transfer student."

"What?! The why the hell are you here! Well?! Answer me! Get off the school's property! It's our team's practice time."

"B-but that's what I..."

"Stop being selfish! You had your run, now leave!"

God! What's his problem! One minute he was nice and the next...Ugh! I hate guys like him. Inuyasha, huh? I'll remember that. We'll see what happens when I make the varsity team and prove that I'm better than you. *sigh* Well, I can't do anything about it now. I might as well go home and get some rest before work. I'll come back tomorrow evening, instead of the morning. That way I won't have to confront him again about this. It would be a waste of my time to argue, when I could be getting better, stronger, even faster. I'll beat him. I have to. Oh God! I'm already obsessed with someone in school and I haven't even started yet! Oh well, guess it's time to get going home.

Inuyahsa's POV

Yes! Time for practice! I am so psyched! A week before school and just like last year, the team gets to start earlier than everyone else. I love the advantage. It is so nice. I am so happy that my brother told me about this before I was even on the team. I wonder why he was being so nice. There must of been something in it for him. Hmmm...

"Yo! Dog boy! Quit day dreaming and let's get out to the track and start da runnin'! Haha. We wouldn't want to be late and get outta shape for da ladies."

"Kouga, shut up! I'm coming and you know I hate that damn nickname you gave me. Just because our family owns a few little dogs..."

"HA-HA! You crack me up. A few? Little dogs? You have got to be kidding me. You own, like twenty dogs and not to mention an actual dog farm to go with it! One more thing...those dogs aren't LITTLE! They're huge! Half of them are, like three feet taller than I am and two feet around the waist bigger than a sumo wrestler."

"Shut up! They are not that big. They are just big boned. Whatever, let's head out. We don't want the girls to steal our track. It's only a little ways down the block, so get in the car."

That damn freshman. He thinks he knows everything. Just because he's actually on my brother's good side doesn't mean he has to act like my friend. *feh* Idiot! Okay, Inuyasha, calm down. You can't be all upset before you run. Plus, the girls might be there and they would be upset if we didn't do our best.

"Here we are and looky there. We already have a rabid fan girl, ready for the players to get playin'."

"Will you stop talking like that! Kouga, you sound like an idiot."

"B-but, we do. Look over there. She's the only chick on the track. And damn is she hot!"

"Step back. She's mine. And just my luck, it looks like she's taking a little water break."

What? Oh God! I have to find a way out of this or I am gonna look like an idiot. She's not even on the girl's team. I'll just tell her to leave and she won't know I was trying to pick her up. Oh man...Here goes nothing.

Who was that girl? I wonder where she transferred from to have such a thick accent. Tomorrow, I'll apologize and get her to go out on a date with me. Haha. She'll be easy.
