Prologue

A/N: I know I really shouldn't be starting another fic when I already have 3 in the works, but I'll keep writing all of them. Hope you like this, though it's going to be short.

"Mommy" 3 year old Veronica Higurashi said pulling on her mothers pant leg, "Vincent stole my cookie." Kagome sighed and walked into the kitchen of her newly purchased home and gave her daughter another cookie. "Vincent, get in here and apologize for taking your sisters cookie" she called to her son. Vincent ran into the kitchen, "But mom I was really hungry" the little boy whined. "You still have to apologize to your sister" she said. "Ok, mom. Sorry Veronica" the boy said. "Good boy" Kagome said "Now you too go watch tv for awhile. I have to practice my lines, ok." "Ok, mommy" they both said running into the kitchen.

The phone rang, and Kagome picked it up. "Hello Kagome, its Chad" a voice said. Chad Cunnings was the director of, Of Life and Lust, the soap opera that had made Kagome a rich woman at the young age of 20. "Hi Chad" Kagome said, "What's up?" "We've revised the script for next season, there is going to be a new character, Jeremy Palmer. So can you come by the studio tomorrow and pick up the new script" he said. "Sure thing Chad, but why are you adding a new character two weeks before next season's premiere" Kagome asked. "That's a question for the writers, not I" Chad said. Kagome laughed, "Ok, see you tomorrow Chad" she said hanging up the phone. Kagome sighed and remembered how this had all come to be.

*FLASHBACK*

"Kagome, I think we should go get you checked out" her mother had said when she had been sick for awhile, Kagome sick of feeling lousy had agreed. "Ms. Higurashi, it is always hard to tell a young woman this, but you're pregnant" the doctor had told her. Kagome had paled realizing that it must have happened when Inuyasha had raped her. That's right Inuyasha; the love of her life had raped her after they had defeated Naraku, claiming that she would be an adequate substitute until such a time as Kikyo could return. Kagome had cried that night and told her mom who the father must have been. Her mother had been sympathetic and gave Kagome the choice of what she wished to do. Kagome chose to keep the child, and soon learned that she was going to have twins. Soon after the twins were born Kagome had moved to the states and started to work as a actress, and as a waitress on the side. She had soon had to give up her waitressing job when she had been given the part of Cassandra Sinclair on, Of Life and Lust. Now she was rich, famous and won numerous awards for the role.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

That night Kagome had put the kids to bed and thought about the day ahead. The next morning she woke up and brought the kids to the set and picked up the new script. She spent the rest of the day learning the new lines. Apparently she was supposed to have known Jeremy along time before the show had started. Kagome looked at the lines and was suddenly glad she had a week before they would meet with the rest of the cast to begin practicing together and shooting the first episode of the new season.
