A New Dog in the House

Sesshoumaru silently watched Kagome and their son run about the gardens below his study window. 'Six years and that woman still holds my heart strongly.' He thought as a soft knock came to the study door. "Enter Jaken." The little green toad walked in and bowed to his master. "Forgive this Jaken for disturbing you Sesshoumaru-sama but there is an Inu female from China here to see you sire."

Sesshoumaru turned to Jaken, his face didn't show the confusion but his words spoke it, "China?"

"Hai Sesshoumaru-sama, do you wish for me to send her away?"

"Iie, show her in." Sesshoumaru sat in a chair behind his desk as Jaken hurried off to fetch the woman.

Jaken finally returned with the woman. Sesshoumaru looked up at her and started a little when he looked into molten gold as well.

He studied her face carefully, each cheek was marked by two red stripes, her eyes where shadowed in red. No mark rested on her forehead, a large black tail was coiled on the ground behind her and a set of white dog ears rested on the top of her head. Her hands where clasped in front of her showing the red striped on her wrists, a hint of poison came from her claws. Her dress was traditional Chinese to show someone of high standing. The woman remained silent under his gaze; Kagome chose to enter the study at that time. She stood in shock at the woman's beauty; her eyes narrowed slowly as well, 'Six years and they still try to get him away from me. Now they where coming from other countries.'

"Ni'hao Sesshoumaru-sama." Sesshoumaru could hear the Japanese accent in her speech. "What are you here for Lady?" Sesshoumaru asked smoothly. "I came seeking a mate, preferably one of my own kind."

Kagome glared openly at the female youkai, she bit her tongue, turning and walking out of the study. Once Kagome left the study the woman smiled slyly at Sesshoumaru, "She doesn't know about me does she?"

Sesshoumaru shook his head, "No she doesn't. I mean you have been away for 60 years."

"Do you not wish her to know who I am?"

"Not yet."

The woman smiled, "My mate will be arriving right before the gathering takes place."

"So you found a mate while you where in Chine now." Sesshoumaru motioned for the woman to sit down in the chair across from him.

"Hai I did. He is middle class youkai, they have four boys, I am mated to the second oldest, he has no land claim, only money that will be sent with him."

"What kind of youkai is he?"

"He is panda youkai. There are only a few areas where his kind can be found. I feel I was lucky to have met him."

Sesshoumaru nodded, "Would you like your old room?"

The woman smiled, "Your mate will think you are up to something, but it does have my clothes."

Sesshoumaru picked up a scroll and began to read it, "So is this a welcome home Kiya?"

"I guess it is."

With that she bowed to him, "Thank you Sesshoumaru-sama." She walked from the study and bowed to Kagome as she entered the study again.

Kagome watched the Chinese woman leave, "Sesshoumaru why is she here?" Sesshoumaru looked up from the scroll in his hands, "She really didn't say as we spoke, but I feel she is seeking a mate of her own race."

Kagome paled a little, "So you would rather have a demon like her instead of me?"

Sesshoumaru stood and walked over to her, "Never did those words come from this Sesshoumaru. Kagome you are my mate, mother to our son. The heir to the West. I only let her stay for we have the gathering coming. Hopefully she will find a mate there." He spoke smoothly as he drew her into his arms.

"But she is a pure Inu youkai." Kagome said.

Sesshoumaru nuzzled her hair a little, "Trust me, my mate, she has nothing on you."

Kiya walked down the hallway quietly, she smirked a little as she heard Jaken run after her as she entered the family wing. "Milady you have no right being in this wing." He screamed. Kiya continued on to her room, it was two doors down from the Lady of The West's room. Jaken squawked again ash the Inu bitch opened a door to a room that had not been opened for 60 years.

"Lady please do not enter that room, Lady Kiya would be most unhappy." "I know Jaken, but I would like you to shut up." Kiya spoke smoothly.

Jaken paled a little, "Lady Kiya?"

"Hai Jaken I have returned. But speak not a word of who I am to Lady Kagome. My mate will be arriving a couple of days before the gathering, please make sure he is brought to my room."

Jaken bowed low, "Hai Lady Kiya."

Kiya smiled as the little toad ran off, once she got settled some, she gathered a blood red kimono and went to the hot spring. Kiya was a bit surprised to find Lady Kagome in there as well, "Forgive me Lady of the West. I did not know you where hear please excuse me." Kiya said as she bowed, turning to leave.

"You may join me." Kagome said quietly, 'If she is in here I know she's not with Sesshoumaru.'

Kiya smiled as she gathered her knee length silver white hair up, she quickly slid jade hair sticks into the bun before removing her dress.

Her left shoulder bore an old star burst like scar, her hips where marked by the same red striped that marked her face.

'She looks almost like a female version of Sesshoumaru though she has Inu Yasha like ears.' Kagome thought as she studied the Inu female.

Kiya slid into the hot water and sighed before she looked at Kagome, "How many years have you been with Lord Sesshoumaru?"

"We have been mates for six years."

Kiya smiled a little, "Any children?"

Kagome wondered why all the questions but answered none the less. "Only one so far; a hyper son."

"So Lord Sesshoumaru has an heir." Kiya said as she leaned back further into the hot water. 'Quiet a little family you have dear brother.' She thought as she rubbed her left shoulder. A servant came over to Kiya and asked if she needed aid. Kiya nodded to the servant to allow her to work the stiffness out of her shoulder. Then let the servant was her back and tail.

"Begging your pardon Lady, but what is you name?" Kagome asked.

Kiya smiled a little, "I am Lady Kiya."

"What part of China are you from?"

Kiya looked at Kagome for a few moments, 'She's smarter then she seems.' "I am from the higher reaches of China in the Northern area." She glanced around for a moment and then settled a little. On the far reaches of her link she could feel Sun Ce.

Kagome watched the way Kiya's eyes moved about for a bit, then her settling she acted as though she was mated but had no mating mark.

Kagome sighed a little before rising to her feet before she stepped from the hot spring. "Well I must be off Lady Kiya."

Kiya nodded, watching her as she left, she turned to the servant, a new girl. "Tell me is The Weaver still alive?"

"Hai Kiya-sama she is. I believe she is here in the palace working with Kagome-sama on a new kimono for the gathering." The girl said properly.

"Good, call her here then."

"Hai Kiya-sama."
