Chapter One: Pulled over

"Oh! Mother! I don't want to go to some stupid hoe down." Kagome wined to her mother, who seemingly paid no attention to her.

"Come on sis, its gunna be fun! You can square dance with me!" A young boy's voice came from the back seat of the car.

Kagome turned around and glared at her younger brother, " Shut it ya lil brat! I don't want to go to some dance with practically every person in our neighborhood dancing like drunken Indians."

"Not Indians, cowboys!" He corrected.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, same thing." Kagome retorted.

"No not the same thing, BIG difference! Though I guess your to stupid to see the difference!"

Kagome whirled around and hit the boy on the head, "Souta, Ya little prick! Take it back!" Kagome yelled as she hung over her seat pulling a the boy's ear.

"KIDS, settle down, Kagome, sit in your seat, your going to give me a ticket!' Kagome's mom ordered, Kagome let go of her younger siblings ear and huffed, sitting herself back down.

Only moments later, blue and red lights brightened up from behind them and a loud siren went off. "Kagome! Now look what you did! Were getting pulled over!"

"MOM, its not my fault, its Souta, didn't you hear what he said to me!"

"Kagome! Now look, I'm going to be late for work and you going to make Souta and yourself late for your hoe down, not to mention the ticket were going to get! We cant afford it! Its coming out of your allowance missy." Kagome's mother practically yelled as she pulled over. The police car followed and the siren went off though the lights were still flashing through the rear window.

"Ha Ha, Kagome, It like totally sucks to be you right now." Souta laughed.

"Ya lil punk, this is all your fault!" Kagome said as she attempted to hit her brother numerous times.

"Kagome stop it, he's almost here." Kagome's mom whispered though said firmly.

Kagome's mom rolled down her window only moments before the police man arrived next to her window.

"Good evening, Mam." The officer leaned down and looked inside of the car. "License and registration please."

"Good evening officer, here you go?" Kagome's mom said calmly as she handed her license and registration to him. He glanced at it the drivers license but read the registration and handed it back to her. "Is there anything I can help you with officer?"

Kagome watched the man, he stuck his head in, a little further and necessary and she could have sworn that he sniffed the air, then, if that wasn't enough, stared straight at then answered. He had unusually long dark hair, and the strangest red piercing eyes. 'He has to be a demon.'

"Actually, I just wanted to warn you that your left break light is out."

"Oh, really." Kagome's mom sighed out in relief. "Well, thank you officer."

"Your welcome miss, just get that fixed ASAP."

"Thank you again officer," Kagome's mom said as she put away her registration and placed her license in her purse. All the while, not noticing the gaze he held on her daughter.

"Good night, Sir." she said as she started up her car.

"Good night Mam." With one last sniff and a slight smirk, he walked away.

It was a good while before anyone else in the car spoke. Though it was Souta who broke the silence. "Ah, I guess it wasn't Kagome's fault for us getting pulled over."

"Shut up." Kagome said and Souta just huffed, his attempt to agitate his sister failed.

"Well, at least it didn't take that long, I shouldn't be late for work it seems, and that officer seemed pretty nice."

"No, that officer seemed creepy, did you see the way he sniffed the car and stared at me?"

"HA, your just paranoid, you probably thought the guy was cute and hoped he was staring and sniffing you."

"KAMI! You Jerk! Im gunna get you!" Kagome yelled as she once again launched herself at her younger brother, hanging over her seat.

"Kagome! Sit yourself down before we do get a ticket, there's already been one close call tonight, we don't need another, straighten yourselves up you two, were almost there.

'Asshole' Kagome mumble under her breath, only to be hit on the head by her mom, "What did I say about cussing Kagome."

"Sorry." She said and Souta just laughed.

' If I cant say it, I'll just think it! ASSHOLE ASSHOLE ASSHOLE ASSHOLE ASSHOLE ASSHOLE!'

"We're here, have a nice time you two, heres a couple of bucks to keep you to occupied, see you two later, and make sure you get a ride from your uncle home, and if you decide to spend the night at one of your friends houses again like last time, please call and leave a message on the answering machine, K?"

"K mom, see ya later!" Souta said as he ran off.

"Bye, love you two." She said as she drove off

Kagome turned towards the doors of the city hall and took a deep breath. The sound of loud country music hit her ears and she sighed. 'This is going to be a long night, well here goes nothing.' She thought as she followed her brother into the double doors of the hall.

Ok, well, theres chapter one, how'd ya like it? Chapter 2 should be better than this one. Chapter 2 should have a lot of action in it. Hope ya liked it,
