Caught

Author's Note: It's been a while since I've written anything! Now since school's out I can write again. This story takes place a year after the group first started hunting down Naraku, and that's about all that's needed to know. Any who on with the story.

It was a cold, dark night. All that could be seen in the silvery light of the moon was a dark shadow of a person running through the gloomy forest.

Kagome had no destination in mind she just had to get away. Away from Inu-Yasha, away from Kikyo, just away from pain.

She finally came to a stop at a small hot spring and fell to the ground on her hands and knees in tears.

'He said he loved me! He said he chose me!' She said punching the ground with her fists. Flashes of Inu-Yasha and Kikyo together going through her mind. Him holding her in his arms. Him telling her he loved only 'her'. 'I'm just a shard detector to him! A cheap copy of her!' She thought punching the ground harder until her fists turned red.

"Why do you cry, miko?" An emotionless voice asked behind her.

Kagome spun around quickly and was shocked to see the cold, hard face of Sesshomaru lord of the western lands leaning against a tree.

'Shit! Why didn't I sense him' She thought angry at herself for being caught so vulnerable without her arrows.

"Why do you care? It isn't like it's any of your business!" She yelled her anger quickly switching to him.

He just stared at her for a second not a single emotion showing on his face. "I was only curious. It most likely has something to do with the worthless hanyou. Tell me what has he screwed up this time."

Kagome snapped at the mention of Inu-Yasha. "Fine I'll tell you why! Because he lied to me, he told me I was the only one!"

She walked next to the spring and picked up a rock and threw it as hard as she could into the river. "I had just got back from my era, and I saw one of 'her' soul stealers fly into the forest." She whispered throwing another rock into the water.

"Curiosity getting the best of me I followed it. And what a stupid mistake that was! Because do you want to know what I found?" Her voice raising as she turned to the silent Taiyoukai not really waiting for an answer.

"Inu-Yasha and Kikyo fucking the hell out of each other! When he said he loved me! He said. . .he. . .choose m-me" Her voice breaking she crumpled to the ground in front of Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru just stared at the sobbing girl in front of him. 'So Inu-Yasha has taken the dead bitch for a mate. Now is my chance to take her.'

Kagome gasped as she felt his arm go around her waist, and pull her into his hard chest, his hand moving up to smooth down her thick black hair. She gazed up at Sesshomaru in disbelief.

'This is Sesshomaru! He has a heart of ice! I just spilled my heart out to him, and now he's comforting me! Though it feels. . .right.' She thought confused leaning into him.

Sesshomaru laid his chin on her head and smirked wickedly. 'You have messed up big this time, little brother.'

Author's Note: What does Sesshomaru have planned? And why in the world is he acting so nice?. . . Short, yes I know other chapters will be longer. . . Any who do you love it or do you hate it? Should I continue?
