Spark

My heart is kept inside a box that nobody can reach,

Locked inside a safe whose combination I can't teach.

That safe is kept upon a shelf that's in a darkened room,

The room is buried underground, quite like an ancient tomb.

The earth above the tomb is covered up by mountains high,

And nobody can dig below the mountains, save for I.

Nobody can reach my heart; it's hidden oh-so-well,

And everything I'm feeling is a secret I won't tell.

I thought that I was covered up so nothing could leak out,

But suddenly this human girl knows all that I'm about.

But how? I wondered to myself, Could I really have been read?

Could a human girl get in and out and still remain undead?

I do not understand this human girl's strange disposition,

But now she knows and she's above me; I must face submission.

She smiled and I am certain that she's reached my heart somehow,

For never have I smiled back as I have smiled now.
