This fanfic takes place about four years or so from when Kagome first goes though the well. The Shikon no Tama is buried and sealed in Kagome's time, till they decide what to do with it. Having only been recently completed for the fourth time, Naraku smashed it, Kikyo shattered it like Kagome did, & Inuyasha accidentally uses his claws on it to get it out of an oni. Sango and Miroku are married and on their second kid. Inuyasha and Kagome are planning their wedding as of now.

The gang is at Kaede's hut discussing what to do with the jewel. Miroku and Sango were saying Inuyasha should become human, Kaede & Shippo said that he should become demon & that it probably wouldn't change his personality. Oblivious to the rest of the world Kagome & Inuyasha sat cuddled together.

Inuyasha suddenly tensed & sniffed the air. I only smell the night coming & rain with it, but something isn't right. He got up without an explanation. Kagome followed him out to his favorite tree to perch, stopping him before he could jump into the branches.

"I can't climb up there, if you insist on sitting outside at least sit on the ground with me. Besides, I want to know what's wrong." Kagome said.

"Somethin' just doesn't feel right tonight, I don't know how to explain it," he said. They sat at the base of the tree, shoulder to shoulder.

"Is it because the new moon is tomorrow?" she offered.

"No, somethin' else..." He sniffed again. He drew his sword & stood in a single motion.

"Damn. I just got a whiff of Sesshomaru, smells like he's headed this way,"he growled.

Sesshomaru walked out of the trees carrying a basket, Jaken followed behind dragging a large bag.

" Put away your sword, I haven't come to steal the Tetsusaiga or kill you this time, nor apparently for a while,"said the now, Great Demon of the Western Lands. He hadn't tried either in 3 years,but then they hadn't seen him that much.

"Like I believe that! What's with the basket?" snarled Inuyasha. Nothing good I'm sure. Sesshomaru advanced toward Inuyasha, making the latter trip & fall on his butt. Rather than taking his eyes off his brother to stand up,the half-breed stayed on the ground, sword ready. Ignoring the Tetsusaiga, Sesshomaru set the basket at Inuyasha's side. The basket had a somewhat familiar scent, but Inuyasha couldn't place it.

"Surely your woman & the old priestess can take care of them. My wife was killed & I do not know anything about them," with that cryptic remark Sesshomaru walked back toward the forest. Jaken flopped the bag near Kagome, grumbling something about why did his lord have to even have the things, then ran after his master.

Kagome looked over at Inuyasha as he sniffed at the basket. "What's in there?"

"Smells like Sesshomaru had pups, one male & one female. I should kill them now."

"What?! You can't just kill them! Their only pups & besides you haven't even seen them." Kagome thought for a second, then busted out laughing.

"What is so damn funny?"

"Oh nothing, just this means that you get to be *snort* Uncle Inuyasha!!" Inuyasha glowered at her, making her laugh that much harder.

"Back to reality, I still say I should kill them before they become a problem."

"No!"

"Yes."

"No way!"

"Why not?"

"He'd kill you, That's why." With that she picked the basket up & took it to Kaede's hut.
