Description:
This is my gift for Mitharus, which was the second drawing that came to mind when I read the mod’s guilty pleasure thread in the forums Dokuga Moderator Month Challenge 2012. This piece actually goes before Wiccan’s one.
Thanks for your hard work Mitharus!

The taciturn Taiyoukai stood by the corpse of the miko from his pack for hours. He dimly watched as her skin became paler and paler and how her body began to eat itself. Sounds imperceptible to many were banging on his ears as was the growing smell.
He hated it.
He had been gifted the sword of Heavens, the power to save and restore life. Why did his father give him such a gift to have it taken away later? Why was Tenseiga needed for Tetsusaiga’s growth? It was unfair.
Golden eyes moved to the miko again, she was far gone. The Shikon Jewel…remained incomplete, there was no way to find the fragments now… the only two miko able to sense the fragments were not on this world anymore. The quest remained unfinished; the hanyou was at the brink of insanity and he… he was not feeling at his optimum himself.
Why? Why did he feel as if his heart was being squeezed inside of him? Why did he feel like his soul was crying, lamenting this one’s passing?
Sesshomaru shook his head to rid himself of such troublesome thoughts and emotions. He took something out of his sleeve and stared at it, it was the almost complete Shikon they had managed to take from Naraku. What was he to do with it?
His eyes moved to the miko’s corpse. In but a few hours her body was going to be burned down, her soul free to pass and be reincarnated. The same way Kikyo departed from this world. A stray thought passed through his mind and he held it.
She should have the Shikon with her when she departed. That way her soul would be sure to reincarnate and she would return to complete her quest.
Mind made up the Taiyoukai dug a hole on her stomach with his left hand and placed the Shikon inside. He carefully arranged her white gi so the wound would be well hidden, then placed her hands over the blood that stained it.
He nodded, pleased with his work and stood guard besides her until morning arrived and her body was burned. He lied to himself, saying she needed to have the Jewel to be back to complete her quest. Maybe he very well knew that he could have done it by himself. He was not curious about his feelings… or anything. In fact, he was dreading the day she came back… she would surely be clumsy, and untrained and useless… and…
Oh, well, he would just have to wait and see.
Special thanks to Syn (for her awesome playlist at LS) and to Brenna (who beta-ed this superb-fast).

Thank you very much for indulging my morbid? tastes.
*stares at bloody hand grinning insanely*
Bet he can't wait to wrap that hand around throat of the clumsy miko and choke the life out of her, when she shows back up for going and dying without his permission.
Thanks again,
-J
