It started out as an obsession, an escape from reality. You caught my eye on the bones of my father. You defied me by your very existence. When it was all said and done, it was the first time my own drive for power failed me. My obsession was born.

Over time, each and every encounter left me wanting to see more of you. Through my obsession, my inheritance gave me a child. She reminded me of you, so I did all I could to protect her. But I was not satisfied. Where she was completely loyal and thoroughly open for my affection, you still held me on a string, far from the circle of your warmth.

The point of no return was when the poison-maker dared to call you what was mine, his. I had to step in, both curious and wanting, to see how you would respond. It was to my disappointment that you responded in confusion, asking why.

During the last encounters against our common foe, I shed the last vestiges of my former path to power and embraced Heaven. The circle was complete. After the evil was slain and the dust settling, I came to a quiet acceptance of my former obsession with you.
