Consistency by Night Fox
Consistency
The inu tatchi was sitting around the fire listening to InuYasha rant, yet again, about Sesshoumaru. They had stumbled across the great Daiyoukai while running along the border of his land. More over, they were surprised to see the small silver haired boy that followed a short distance behind him. InuYasha had slid to a halt and stared gape mouthed at them. "Fuck! There's two of 'em now?"
Sesshoumaru had disappeared into the bushes with only one scathing remark towards the hanyo. The little boy sneered at them before following his father.
Kagome had to admit that, while interesting, his mood swings were grating on her nerves. One minute he would be cackling maniacally, the next he would be depressed, and the next he would start going on about how he hated 'the god forsaken bastard'. "Damn prick, the only thing that got him a brat is his girly face. Asshole doesn't have one good trait!" He spat looking into the flames.
"Well, he does have one." She meant it to be only heard by herself, but when InuYasha whipped around to glare at her she knew she'd been caught. "What 'dya say, wench?" He snarled at her.
"I said he does have one!" She glared at him. "Yeah, name it!" He bit back and took to his feet.
"At least he's emotionally consistent, you bi-polar dumb ass!" Kagome nodded and crossed her arm. Sesshoumaru was indeed consistent. He always hated you. He always found you beneath him, and by god he never sat in front of a fire cackling like an idiot only to become depressed the minute. "Well if you like him so much why don't you follow him around!"
Kagome jumped to her feet and clenched her fists. "Maybe I will! Sit, you jerk!" She stomped out of the camp as soon as InuYasha's face met the ground.
She found a seat on the gnarled roots of a tree. She crossed her legs and arms muttering about idiot hanyo and their mood swings. "At least Sesshoumaru is consistent!" She ground out again, not aware that said person was passing by.
"What was that, miko?" Kagome froze in her ranting and looked over her shoulder to see the said demon lord peering down at her. She scratched the back of her head and chuckled a bit. 'Crap, I'm in trouble now.' She thought.
"I do not repeat myself."
"Well... uh... I said that you very consistent." His eyebrow rose. Consistent was he? That was one adjective he'd never heard applied to him, but he was always one to take advantage of a new thing. He leaned down and placed his hand on the tree trunk beside her. "Tell me about my consistently, miko."
He leaned in drawing his face close to hers.
"Well... uh... you see... um..." He leaned in further so that their noses just barely brushed.
"Stuttering is a very nasty habit." His smooth voice was a whisper. She squeaked and red flowed over her face. His lips pressed ever so softly to her. Hesitant at first she didn't respond. Surprise flooding her mind to much for there to be room for anything else. After a moment she leaned into him, deepening the kiss, her hands finding their way to wrap in his silver tendrils of hair.
His hand slipped down her side and to her hip in a soft caress as he pushed her back against the tree. Her eyes slipped closed as their tongues began to battle. Sesshoumaru's clawed hand played on the edge of her skirt, tracing it along her side.
"Kagome!" Her eyes snapped open and the demon lord was gone. She raised a hand to her lips and looked around. "Was it all a dream?"
Some distance away the demon lord smiled to himself. He knew he could learn very well to like this whole consistency thing.
