"Oh." Kagome all but purrs as she scoops up a glob of the oozing viscous liquid off of Sesshomaru. "Mmmm. That's good."

Sesshomaru gives his mate a dour look to hide the shudder that runs through him. "Kagome—"

"Shh. I'm savoring it." She gives him that impish smile of his that he knows well by now means trouble. "It tastes so much better when it's fresh—and when I lick it off of you." She licks her lower lip. "I like it."

He rolls his eyes. "One would hope that you like it," he drawls, "since it is icing for your cake."

"Way to ruin the mood." She huffs. "Sometimes, Sesshomaru, you're nothing but a killjoy."

"I am a killer of many things," he deadpans as he finishes icing her birthday cake. "Your sense of fun is merely an amusing bonus."

She sticks her tongue out at him and Sesshomaru chuckles as he sets her cake aside to pull his mate into his arms and kiss her soundly on the lips.

For the moment, at least, she forgets her complaints as she throws her arms around him, tasking of strawberry frosting and sugar from the frosting she'd pilfered off of his forearm.
