She first began 'noticing' him a good year after her return to the past, and Kagome couldn't say how or why, but suddenly Sesshoumaru seemed to have taken up residence inside her head. She resisted for all the logical reasons it would never work- not to mention, it would be really inappropriate after being in love with Inuyasha, and-

"What are you muttering to yourself about, miko?"

Kagome jerked, finding Sesshoumaru looking over at her while Rin tended to Kaede's horse. "A-ah...nothing."

He blinked languidly, dismissing her oddness and reaching down when Rin asked, lifting the girl up to sit on the back of the horse.

Kagome inwardly screamed, having noticed his parental gestures with increasing frequency. This...he- was not good for her heart.
