A very cute start. There's something about gift-giving amongst friends that is so much fun and I find that it brings everyone closer together.
I'm curious what you think a White Elephant is? In my family, a White Elephant Gift is a gag gift - something that you have that is just an eyesore and you want to get rid of. When I read your story, it sounded more like a Secret Santa, where you draw names and don't tell anyone who you have to buy a gift for until the reveal day. I don't know, maybe I'm confused.
I like that Kagome singles Sesshomaru out quietly. The fact that she thinks of others is so in character for her. Nicely done.
