Alright, last question for today... where does this fic diverge from Canon? I'm guessing somewhere after Toukijin is destroyed but before Tenseiga is reforged with the Meidou Zangetsuha (or at least before he goes to ask his mother about it). If so, it would make this chapter make SO much more sense. Not that I have much hope for an answer, since that would be telling... but I'm still hoping!

OK this is going to drive me nuts... I'm re-reading this and I'm stuck on "but she couldn’t tell which of the stars filling the sky was Sesshoumaru" and I'm reading that to mean he's leaving entirely (not to the caves), because why else would have have left Kagome behind? And suddenly my insane theory seems a little less insane... because there's only one place I can think of that he would go... still not ready to own up to it though....
How much time has passed since the new moon? I'm trying to count from when he went to see Inuyasha (and Rin) and I can't figure it out. I can remember 2 nights for the saga and the 2 days mentioned in ch.435, but I'm not sure if that includes the first day. It's a waxing crescent so I'm guessing 4 or maybe 5 days?
