Thanks for reviewing Family Ties. Well I actually wrote is four years ago, so it's probably a little out of character here and there. Also its a drabble so I'm not going for accuracy and it's AU so canon divergence. FT is also set during Kagome's early twenties. Mamoru is her first child so she's making it up as she goes along. Also he's a hanyou and not a human child, so she's got very little experience there in terms of raising a half-human baby. That might account for her 'childishness'.
She's also acting out of maternal protectiveness considering a variety of reasons highlighted in FT already. If anything she's probably acting or seeming 'childish' because she's terrified of Sesshoumaru taking away or possibly killing her son. Hanyou are despised by humans and youkai alike. Kagome has probably heard horror stories since living in the Feudal Era of the fates of unprotected hanyou children.
