Kagome sighed as she felt the drizzle start. The sky was a steely gray, black and dirty white rain clouds hung heavy. Earlier that day looked so promising that she didn't even think of bring an umbrella. Kagome took a moment to stand in front of her condo complex and looked up at the sky. Her eyes squinting as the drizzle started getting more heavy as it hit her upturned face. Hefting her bag strap more secure on her shoulder. She walked into the building. When she reached her condo she could hear the rain pour down, rain drops splattered against the windows echoing in what Kagome assumed to be an empty place. Her husband wasn't due home until three more hours. She placed her keys in the bowl beside the door and placed the mail next to it. She slipped off her shoes and left her bag off to the side of the entrance way. Kagome made her way to the kitchen to make a cup of tea but movement from the living room stopped her. There in the gray light stood her husband watching her. She noticed a single red rose held in his hand. “Welcome home” his deep baritone voice purred. Kagome smiled as she went to him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“You're home early” She rubbed her face against his chest.

“I finished early” He tucked the rose behind her ear to pull her close. A tender silence fell as they slowly rocked to the natural music of the rain.

“I talked to my publisher today” Kagome sighed. Sesshoumaru waited for his mate to continue “I was able to get an extension but I still can't get rid of this writer's block”. Tilting her chin with his index finger he made her look up at him, placing a chaste kiss to her lips he gave her a small smirk.

“Then let me help you” He combed his long fingers through her dark raven tresses. She closed her eyes as she felt him gently cup her face to tenderly kiss her. She sighed happily as he placed soft butterfly kisses from the corner of her mouth down to her neck. Holding each other close Sesshoumaru inhaled her lovely scent. He slowly lifted her shirt, his long nails barely grazing her skin; it sent shivers down Kagome's spine. Kagome's hands slid to rest on his chest a moment before unbuttoning his shirt. Hands resting on her hips Sesshoumaru dipped his head. Kagome caught his head in her hands as she let out a gasp from his wandering devilish lips. Humming in pleasure she let her head fall back. Sesshoumaru purred “I believe reality is better than any fantasy” Kagome's head snapped up, her once glazed eyes clear with a sparkle that Sesshouamru knew all to well.

“Eureka! That's it!” untangling herself from her husband she ran to the office, slamming the door behind her. Sesshoumaru groaned as he stood there disheveled looking at the closed office door. He knew she would be in there for hours. Sighing and shaking his head he went to make himself tea. This was one reason why he never talked much.

Three days later Kagome sat across from her best friend Sango in a small cafe. Kagome had finally came out of her office since that stormy day. Sango read over the finished rough draft of Kagome's story before she met her publisher. Sango grinned through tears. “That was just as good as the other ones in the series.” dabbing her eyes she smiled at Kagome. “Does Sesshoumaru know that he's your model for your main character?”

Kagome smiled sheepishly and drew circles with her finger on the table. “Uhm....not exactly..”

Sango raised a brow. “What do you mean by that?” Kagome sighed.

“He knows that I write romance novels but he doesn't know that my Sagami is based off of him.”

“So...” Sango smirked wickedly. “Are those hot scenes also inspired by true life?” Kagome blushed bright red before both broke out in giggles.

“Not all....” Kagome tried to recover a bit. Sango just smirked and raised a brow.

“So I've noticed since reading your Demon Lord series. The sexy scenes didn't get nearly as hot as when you started going out with Sesshoumaru.” Sango's sides hurt from holding in her laughter. She didn't think Kagome's face could get any brighter. Kagome started collecting her rough draft back together, fidgeting with it so she didn't have to look at Sango.

“I better get going before I'm late.” Kagome got up along with Sango. Sango gave her friend a hug.

“Good Luck” Kagome smiled as she pulled away.

“Thanks” She picked her stuff up and left.

On the other side of town two men sat in a booth at there favorite restaurant. One sipped a cup coffee as he read his book. The other was slurping down a bowl of ramen. “Why do you read that chick trash?” the white hair male asked around a mouth full of noodles. The dark eyed, dark hair man just rolled his eyes.

“It's not trash Inuyasha. It's a very well written novel of love, lust, betrayal, and sacrifice.” Inuyasha practically gagged at his long time friend as he almost swooned just talking about the book.

“Feh, I'm just glad that you're going out with Sango otherwise I'd be wondering about you Miroku” Miroku just ignored his friend as he went back to his book. Inuyasha ordered another bowl of ramen.

“By the way what did your brother want to meet with us for?” Miroku asked over his book. Inuyasha slumped back in his seat and shrugged.

“Something about going over a few contracts and the such.”

“Speak of the devil.” Sesshoumaru walked into the restaurant and was heading their way. He nodded his greeting to them as he took his seat. Giving the waitress his order he turned to look over Inuyasha and Miroku, raising a brow at Miroku's questionable reading material.

“Don't judge a book by its cover.” Miroku's eyes never left the page that he was reading when he felt Sesshoumaru's questioning gaze. Sesshoumaru just hn'ed, pulling out a folder he got down to business.

After two hours of going business talk over lunch the three men finished for the day. Again Sesshoumaru was eying his co workers book. Miroku finished the last page before closing it. He looked up and smiled. “Would you care to read it?”

“Hardly” Sesshoumaru sniffed. Inuyasha just shook his head.

“Hell no. I don't read chick books.”

“Do you even read books?” Sesshoumaru smirked. Inuyasha glared at his brother.

“Ha ha ha. Very funny”

“Just try it Sesshoumaru. I know the author. She writes very well and her stories are intriguing.” Miroku offered handing the book over to Sesshoumaru. He looked down at it.

“The Lord of the West and His Miko?” glancing down a bit farther the author's name caught his attention. Both Miroku and Inuyasha were surprised when they saw Sesshoumaru pick it up and thumbed open to the first page. Sesshoumaru knew his wife wrote romance novels. He never cared for the genre nor did she force him to read her work. Actually she preferred that he didn't read them. Miroku smiled.

“You can borrow that copy. I'm waiting for the new one in the series to come out soon.”

“Keh” with Inuyasha's final words the three men broke up and left their separate ways.

That night as Kagome went through her normal routine of getting ready for bed, Sesshoumaru lounged in bed reading the book Miroku had given him that afternoon. He had to admit that his wife wrote well but the storyline was your typical romance plot. Kagome paused when was climbing into bed when she caught what her husband was reading. “Where did you get that?” She asked nervously. Sesshoumaru smirked to himself. Not taking his eyes off the book he answered her.

“A friend suggested I should give it a try. Since I have heard of this famous novelist I figured I'd give it a chance.” She blushed at his answer.

“Oh...ok...” scooting down under the blankets Kagome snuggled against her pillow. Giving a sigh of comfort she closed her eyes, waiting for sleep to take her. Sesshoumaru turned off the bedside light and laid down beside his wife, wrapping an arm around her.

“I didn't realize our two week vacation inspired you so.” he purred into her ear. Kagome's eyes snapped open. He now knew.
